Cleansing the Mind, Healing the Body

Introduction
True healing begins not only with what you eat, but with what you think and feel.
Your thoughts and emotions send powerful messages to your cells every day. When your mind is peaceful, your body relaxes and heals. But when your mind carries anger, fear, envy, or judgment, your body reacts with tension, stress hormones, and inflammation.
This class will help you understand how cleansing your mind is one of the most powerful ways to heal your body from within.
Section 1: The Mind–Body Connection
Every emotion creates a physical reaction.
When you experience joy, peace, or gratitude, your nervous system calms, digestion improves, and your immune system strengthens. When you experience fear, anger, or envy, your body releases stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline. These hormones are useful for survival in short bursts, but when they stay elevated for too long, they begin to damage tissues and organs.
Your body and mind are always communicating.
- •If the mind is stressed, the body stays tense.
- •If the mind is calm, the body begins to heal naturally.
Section 2: The Four Emotional Toxins
Below are four of the most common emotions that can create imbalance in the body — and what to do to transform them into healing energy.
1. Anger
Effect on the Body: Raises blood pressure, tightens muscles, and increases inflammation.
Healing Practice: Practice forgiveness and deep breathing. Forgiveness is not about approving someone's action — it is about freeing yourself from emotional weight.
2. Envy
Effect on the Body: Creates chronic stress and dissatisfaction.
Healing Practice: Replace comparison with gratitude. Each time you notice envy, list three things you already have that you are thankful for.
3. Judgment
Effect on the Body: Creates tension in the mind and blocks compassion.
Healing Practice: Replace judgment with understanding. The moment you understand others, your heart relaxes.
4. Fear
Effect on the Body: Activates the fight-or-flight system, weakens immunity, and disrupts sleep and digestion.
Healing Practice: Replace fear with faith. Remind yourself that peace and safety begin within.
Section 3: Cleansing the Mind
Cleansing the mind doesn't mean ignoring emotions — it means transforming them. You cleanse your mind every time you choose understanding over anger, peace over reaction, and faith over fear.
Simple ways to begin:
- •Take a quiet walk in nature and breathe deeply.
- •Write in a journal for 5 minutes each night.
- •Speak words of kindness to yourself.
- •Let go of one heavy thought each day.
These small choices slowly reprogram your brain and nervous system toward healing.
Section 4: Reflection Exercise
Take a few slow, deep breaths.
Ask yourself:
- •What emotion in my life is my body still carrying?
- •Where in my body do I feel it — my chest, stomach, or shoulders?
- •What would happen if I finally released it?
Write your thoughts in a notebook. Healing begins with awareness.

Format: Small group, in-person training
Reiki Training
Future Reiki certification courses will be offered to help students learn energy healing, alignment, and relaxation through the International Center for Reiki Training framework. These classes will include guided practice, attunements, and mentorship with Dr. Chane.
